SBI PO Notification 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- You should have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- If you are in the final year/semester of your graduation, you can apply provisionally. However, if you are called for an interview, you must provide proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before December 31, 2023.
- Candidates with Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificates should ensure that they have passed the IDD on or before December 31, 2023.
- Candidates with qualifications in fields like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, etc., are also eligible.
Note:
- The date of passing the eligibility examination will be the date mentioned on your mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the university/institute.
- If the result of a particular examination is posted on the university/institute’s website, the date on which the result was posted on the website will be considered as the date of passing.
- In the online application, you should indicate the percentage obtained in graduation. If your university awards CGPA/OGPA, you should convert it into a percentage and mention it in the application.
- During the interview, you will need to provide a certificate issued by the appropriate authority, stating the university’s norms for converting grades into percentages.
Calculation of Percentage:
- The percentage marks will be calculated by dividing the total marks obtained in all subjects in all semesters/years by the aggregate maximum marks in all subjects.
- This calculation applies even if your university determines the class/grade based on honors marks only.
- Fractions of a percentage will be ignored. For example, 59.99% will be considered less than 60%, and 54.99% will be considered less than 55%.
Age Limit: (As on 01.04.2023):
- The minimum age requirement is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 30 years as of 01.04.2023. This means that candidates must have been born between 02.04.1993 and 01.04.2002 (both days inclusive).

SBI PO Notification 2023 – SBI PO Selection Process
The selection process for Probationary Officers consists of three phases:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
- The Preliminary Examination is conducted online and consists of objective tests.
- The test has three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
- Each section has a separate time limit, and the total duration of the exam is 1 hour.
- The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are used to create a merit list for the Main Examination.

Phase-II: Main Examination
- The Main Examination is conducted online and consists of objective tests and a descriptive test.
- The objective test has four sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language.
- The descriptive test is conducted immediately after the objective test, and candidates have to type their answers on the computer.
- The objective test has a duration of 3 hours, and the descriptive test has a duration of 30 minutes.
- The marks obtained in the Main Examination are used to create a merit list for Phase-III.

Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Group Exercise, and Interview
- Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination undergo Phase-III.
- Phase-III includes a psychometric test, group exercise, and interview.
- The psychometric test helps in understanding the candidate’s personality.
- The group exercise and interview are conducted to assess the candidate’s skills and suitability for the position.
- The maximum marks for the group exercise and interview are 50.
- Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks set by the bank to qualify for Phase-III.
